Kevin is a Designer in Fielding International’s Michigan studio and teaches at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit. Over 7 years of teaching helps to enrich his design of learning environments and over 10 years of designing contributes insights to his teaching methods. This loop perpetually brings wholeness to his understanding of the relationship between space and learning.
His ever developing process is always being applied to new disciplines. Along his journey he has been in a deep dive of sustainability, working with the Green Garage in Detroit for over 10 years designing various environments and systems. He has created a live sketching service to help facilitate meetings and events for organizations including Ford Motor Company, Detroit Public Schools, and many others. He has helped to grow businesses such as Civilla, a public service design firm, through creative consultation, graphic design and product design.
His recent work with Fielding International includes designing an Innovation Center at Mound Fort Middle School in Ogden, Utah where the facilities are directly used as a learning tool. He has worked on designing Sun Prairie West High School in Wisconsin to accommodate new learning principles that foster more collaboration and student autonomy. He worked with Magnificat High School in Rocky River, Ohio initially to design a new S.T.E.M. community and then facilitating workshops with the teachers to help think of ways to better use the new facilities.
Kevin holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from the College for Creative Studies. His future goals are revolve around social and neuroscience, human centered design, and the past and future of learning. He is fond of puzzles.
