Karishma received her Masters in Architectural and Building Sciences degree from Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). Her studies cumulated in a thesis titled ‘Manhattan Flex’ which dealt with flexibility and adaptability of space in learning environments. While extensively researching on this topic, she came across large body of work. At Fielding, she has worked on Horace Greeley High School library and L-wing renovations for the Chappaqua Central School District, New York; Kunskapsskolan’s NUN Academy in Saudi Arabia. She has also been a project manager for MISK Academy’s Boys Primary School in Saudi Arabia. This had has enabled her to directly apply her education and research to projects and see them materialize.
She pursued her undergraduate degree in architecture at Balwant seth School of Architecture in Mumbai, India. At both her schools she learned to design using various medium such as sketching, drafting, and 3D modeling. She is also proficient in Revit (BIM software), prototyping, AutoCAD, Rhino, along with other graphic tools that are part of the Adobe Creative Suite.
Through her sincere design and problem-solving approach, enthusiasm and creativity, Karishma has contributed greatly to the creation of healthy and engaging learning environments so that students are unconstrained creatively, gain important life skills and are inspired for a lifetime of learning.
